Former ADEMA Frontman Joins Forces With FILTER Members In New Project
January 14, 2005Former ADEMA vocalist Marky Chavez — half-brother of KORN frontman Jonathan Davis — has finally broken his silence regarding his departure from the group.
In a letter sent to the MarkyChavez.com fan site, Marky writes, "When ADEMA signed a new deal with Earache Records, I was excited to try and recapture the sound that we had on the first ADEMA record. When we started writing the record, things just didn't work like they had in the past. I take full responsibility for the personal problems that I had. On the other hand, it takes two to tango, if you know what I mean.
"Kris [Kohls, ADEMA drummer] and I had an argument over the direction the band should go in and I decided that it was time for me to leave the band. I wished them luck on their new band and even agreed to let them use the name ADEMA.
"It sucks that we don't even speak anymore, but I guess that's the way things go sometimes!
"I have started a new band with the guitar player and bass player of FILTER! I can't wait to let the world hear this new music. It's the best stuff I have ever been a part of.
"The band is located out of Chicago and we are taking meeting with labels and management! We should have a record coming out toward the latter part of this New Year!
"I really would like to thank all the ADEMA fans that have not forgotten about me, and they won't be disappointed with this new band and record.
"All things happen for a reason, and I am proud of what I did with ADEMA, but this new project is what I have wanted to do for a long time!"
As previously reported, ADEMA have announced the addition of REWIND YESTERDAY singer Luke Caraciolli to the group's ranks. The band are currently hard at work on their Earache Records debut, "Planets", tentatively due in early April. A single, entitled "Tornado", will precede the album during the coming weeks. 16 tracks will be included on the follow-up to 2003's "Unstable", which will reportedly come with a bonus DVD.
